Climbing over bodies of water frozen by the winter cold using crampons and ice axes is a possible activity in the Pyrenees. These fleeting moments seem suspended, as if outside time.
The practice of ice climbing is extremely dependent on weather conditions and in view of the last few winters seems to be confined to the February.
This ice climbing discovery day will introduce you to gestures and sensations associated with climbing on these frozen bodies of water. Accompanied by a mountain guide, you'll be able to discover sites in the heart of the Alps. Ossau valley or the Troumouse cirquenear Gavarnie in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Climbing one length of rope to a maximum height of 30m.
