Ski touring this winter in the Pyrenees?

You are a skier in search of a practice that is both wilder and more environmentally friendly ? Have you ever tried ski touring with a mountain guide? Just a stone's throw from the local ski resorts (Artouste and Gourette), our guides will take you skiing in complete freedom.

An introduction to ski touring with a mountain guide will allow you to experience the mountains away from the ski lifts! Our high mountain guides are passionate about skiing and will help you discover this activity in a fabulous setting: The Anéou circus just below the Pourtalet pass on the Spanish border.

After a few days, you will no longer be afraid of the seal skins and conversions! You will then perceive the mountain with a new eye. Soon you will be able to ski on the virgin slopes of the Pyrenees! Moreover, this will give you access to itinerant ski raids if you want to spend a few days skiing in our beautiful Pyrenean mountains!

Who is the introductory ski touring course for?

This is for all skiers who want to discover the snow away from the ski resorts of Gourette and Artouste!

However, you must already have some experience of downhill skiing, be at ease on red or even black runs and if possible have a little off-piste experience in all snow conditions.

You also need to be in good shape for the climb(s), which may be as high as 800m of positive altitude difference (3 to 5 hours) on skis to fully enjoy the day.

We will learn to use the specific equipment for ski touring (skins, shovel, probe)

At the end of the day, you will be able to move around on skis on the way up, make a track, do conversions on the way up and use all the safety equipment.
