The rafting course from Herrère to Oloron Sainte Marie is the reference in terms of sports courses to be done in half a day: wilder, more rapids, more adrenaline.

It is only feasible in spring at snowmelt, usually from early April to mid- to late June, depending on the year.

The activity In detail

General Info

  • Location : Gave d'Ossau river between Herrère and Oloron Sainte Marie, meeting point generally at the SNCF station of Oloron Sainte Marie (Google Maps RDV Oloron)
  • from the beginning of April to the end of June
  • 1h45 to 2h15 of descentBut it takes about 3 hours and a half in total, including dressing, preparation, shuttle service, etc.
  • RDV 9:30 am or 1:30 pm

Levels / Difficulties

Class II / III / III+ river
The river is narrow, winding, wild with rapids where it is better to pass at the right place!

Beginners allowed, but you will paddle hard!

Conditions

  • Know how to swim, be in good physical condition, be at least athletic, not afraid of water
  • Children from 12 years old
  • Warn if you have a medical history

Framing

The activity is supervised by a state-certified instructor in canoeing and associated disciplines A member of the Ossau valley instructors' office, Aventure Chlorophylle.

Groups of 4 to 7 participants maximum per instructor.
