An introduction to rafting in the Pyrenees for everyone!

Our journey from Pau river offers the possibility to carry out a rafting initiation for anyone who can swim ! The Pau river is an ideal Pyrenean river to learn about rafting in complete safety. The course, located between Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre and Lestelle-Bétharram, allows to have a blast with friends or family discovering the joys of the most entertaining route in the French Pyrenees.

Our white water activities on the most entertaining part of the Gave de Pau

The term gave refers to a torrential river in the Pyrenees. The Gave de Pau in western France is formed by the confluence of the Gave de Gavarnie and the Gave de Cauterets at Pierrefitte-Nestalas. We practice our white water activities on the most eventful and fun part of the Gave de Pau. It is located between Lourdes and Lestelle-Bétharram. Depending on the water level and the season we embark at Lourdes, Rieulès or Saint Pé de Bigorre.

Paddlers will be able to see diving ducks, wagtails and even a stealthy kingfisher skimming the surface of the river. Alternating observation of the environment, pretty rapids and balance games The whole family will have a good laugh.

Before the rafting trip: get equipped!

We start by disinfecting our hands and signing the swimming certificates with a carrot pen that we will have to remember to return. The colour of this pen is a wonderful reminder of the YES WE RAFT colour and we are very keen on it. So just after you have mourned the loss of a beautiful carrot pen, we hand over your rafting gear. We start with the neoprene wetsuit, waistcoat and then the helmet.

A shuttle to best respect the barrier gestures

Once you have put on your superhero suit, we will shuttle you to the start of the descent. To avoid contact between participants as much as possible, you will take your car to drive your group to the start. The drivers will then take the vehicles back to the campsite so that you have your own car at the finish. We then drive the brave drivers with masks to the start with our vehicle.

An unforgettable rafting trip in the Pyrenees

After a briefing explaining the basics of navigation and basic safety rules, we embark on a a minimum of 1 hour 45 minutes on the water. Our goal is to make sure you have an unforgettable time on the water. We adapt to you. If you want a fun descentIf you want to take the biggest waves and push yourself into the water, this is possible.
